What’s your role and when did you start at Citywide?

My role is Client Services Executive and I started on 7th May 2024, just after the Bank Holiday weekend.

Can you tell us a bit about your study and education background?

I completed a degree in Events Management at Bournemouth University which I loved. More recently, I completed two of my Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) exams and plan to study and complete my remaining two over the next couple of years. One of things that attracted me to Citywide is the emphasis they put on Continued Professional Development (CPD) to help get me succeed in my next two exams.

What were you doing before you joined Citywide?

After completing my degree, I used my skills directly and worked in events for four years. After that, I worked as a Business Development Manager in a financial firm for another four years. As part of this role, I helped to run a women’s network in Geneva, Switzerland, where I ran monthly events to help empower women to take control and ownership of their finances. This was a very enriching experience.

What does your role at Citywide entail?

My role is focused on new business. I help with client referrals and collect all the relevant information we need for them, such as their assets, liabilities, dependents and pensions.  I love having client contact, and I speak and meet with new clients to understand where their money is currently invested. I run risk assessment reports with the team, and we prepare all the information they need prior to their meetings with their Citywide financial advisor.

What do you think sets Citywide aside from others from your experience so far?

It was clear from first learning about Citywide that there was an emphasis on going above and beyond for every client. That initial perception has only been enhanced since working at Citywide. The relationships built between clients and the Citywide team are strong, trusting and caring; to a scale I haven’t seen before.

What are your career plans and aspirations for the future?

My goal is to become a financial advisor myself, and eventually specialise in advising and supporting women, particularly through major life events such as having children, buying a home, divorce and bereavements. I find it deeply fulfilling to help others on such a personal and individualised basis, and the work gives me a real sense of purpose.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love netball and play weekly. I run regularly too, and take part in a monthly 10k running event which ensures I keep up the training! I find running really helpful for clearing your mind which benefits both my work and home life. At the moment, I’m training for my third half marathon event at the Royal Parks in London which takes place in October. Keep your eyes on our LinkedIn page for updates on training and the event itself as I’ll be sharing my half marathon journey.

I’m an avid traveller and will be going around South America in December for three weeks. I can’t wait!

We’re very excited to have Olivia on board the Citywide team. If you’d like to speak to Olivia about becoming a new Citywide client then please do get in touch.
